The LTE version of the Snapdragon 888 chip is under construction
Qualcomm plans to launch a 5G connectionless version of the Snapdragon 888 processor. This version will be a new platform and will be known by the model number SM8450 (the model number of the current version of this processor is SM8350). Qualcomm manufactures this product for companies that intend to sell their products in the markets of countries that do not support next generation networks. Huawei, which is not allowed to use 5G technology from American companies, will also be able to use this processor.
Huawei P50 series phones, which are scheduled to be released in late July, are said to be equipped with this new Qualcomm processor. Fortunately, the Chinese company seems to be able to use LTE-related technologies and does not pose a legal threat to the company. However, Huawei is still unable to use Google’s mobile service, so P50 series phones will not be able to access the service.
A lot of information has been released about the OS 2.0 Harmony operating system, and it is expected that the P50 series phones will also use this operating system. However, it is unlikely that there will be a significant difference between the operating system of this Huawei flagship series and the P40 and Mate 40 series handsets.
What do you think of the new Snapdragon processor? Can this processor help sell Huawei P50 series handsets? Share your comments with us.
