Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera

As you know, the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus use the same cameras as their predecessors in the Galaxy S20 series. Now a reputable source called Tron has revealed that this will not happen in the Galaxy S22 series and Samsung will adopt a different strategy for next year’s models.

Currently, the Galaxy S20 / S21 uses a 12-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. The large pixel size of the main camera makes these photos good at night, and the high resolution of their telephoto camera allows them to record 8K videos as well as shoot distant subjects without zooming.

But according to Tron, apparently everything will be different for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. These models will feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultraviolet camera.

Of course, this does not mean that these two models do not use large pixel cameras. Samsung currently has a large 50-megapixel sensor with a size of 1.12 inches, whose 1.4 micrometer pixels can be increased to 2.8 micrometers using pixel blending technology. The sensor is also capable of recording 8K videos. Of course, until the introduction of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung may also introduce the next generation GN sensors.

It should be noted, however, that there are at least six months left until the introduction of the Galaxy S22 series, and the above rumor may not be true or may be based solely on prototypes that may change as the work progresses.

If the above rumor is not true, it means that the standard and plus models of the Galaxy S22 will not have a periscope camera for another year, and this type of camera will only be used on Ultra models.

On the other hand, we know based on rumors that the Galaxy S22 series will lack cameras under the screen and 3D sensors for flight duration. However, in today’s revelation, Tron also mentioned the code names of Rainbow R and G, which is “Rainbow” is the code name of the Galaxy S22 series, and each of the three models in this series will have one of the letters “RGB”: , G for the Plus model and B for the Ultra model.
